What We Believe

đź“– What We Believe

The Bible

We believe that the Bible is the inspired and inerrant Word of God. It is the final authority for what we believe, teach, and confess. Through Scripture, God reveals His Law and His Gospel—His truth about sin and His gift of salvation in Jesus Christ.

The Triune God

We believe in one true God who exists in three persons: God the Father, Creator of all; God the Son, Jesus Christ, our Savior; and God the Holy Spirit, who brings us to faith. These three persons are coequal and coeternal—one God.

  • God the Father, Creator of all
  • God the Son, Jesus Christ, our Savior
  • God the Holy Spirit, who brings us to faith

Jesus Christ

We believe that Jesus Christ is true God and true man. He lived a perfect life, died on the cross for the sins of all people, and rose again in victory over sin, death, and the devil. Through Him alone, we receive forgiveness and eternal life.

Salvation: Grace Alone, Faith Alone, Scripture Alone

  • Grace Alone — God loves and saves us, even though we do not deserve it
  • Faith Alone — We receive forgiveness and eternal life through faith in Jesus
  • Scripture Alone — The Bible is the sole source and standard of Christian teaching

These truths summarize the teachings recovered during the Reformation and remain central to our faith.

Sin and Forgiveness

We believe that all people are sinful and cannot save themselves. But God, in His mercy, sent His Son to redeem us. Through Jesus, our sins are forgiven, and we are made right with God.

Word and Sacraments

We believe that God gives His grace through His Word (the Bible) and the Sacraments (Baptism and the Lord’s Supper). Through these, the Holy Spirit creates and strengthens faith.

The Church

We believe that the Church is the community of all believers in Jesus Christ. Our mission is to share the love of Christ with our community and the world through Word and deed.

Our Lutheran Confession

As a Lutheran church, we hold to the teachings of Martin Luther as faithfully summarized in the Book of Concord, which reflects the truth of Scripture.

✝️ Our Mission

In response to God’s grace, we seek to make known the love of Christ in our church, our community, and throughout the world.
